The next decade belongs to the young people growing up in our communities now.

From the beginning, GPLXC has believed that young people should not simply be invited into community, they should have the opportunity to shape it.

Through youth arts, creative programming, community history, and spaces for young people to express themselves, GPLXC has worked to create something that is increasingly rare: a place where young people can show up as their whole selves, make something, ask questions, build relationships, and see their own experiences reflected in the community around them.

Art can become a way to tell a story.

A photograph can become part of an archive.

A gathering can become a friendship.

A young person's idea can become a community project.

Those moments matter because community leadership does not suddenly appear when someone turns eighteen or twenty-five. It grows when people are given opportunities to participate, create, experiment, and be taken seriously.

That is part of GPLXC's legacy.

But the real question is what happens next.

As we approach our tenth anniversary, we want to expand the opportunities available to the next generation. We want young people to have more ways to create, learn, lead, document their communities, and imagine futures that extend beyond the circumstances they inherited.

Because the goal isn't simply to create programs for young people.

It is to help create a community where young people can become the people who shape what comes next.
