Community is something we create together.

Some of the most important things GPLXC has built cannot be measured only in numbers.

They live in a mural.

In a photograph.

In a cup of coffee shared at a community gathering.

In music playing at an event.

In a young person making their first piece of art.

In people finding a space where they can celebrate who they are.

GPLXC has always understood culture and creativity as more than decoration. They are ways that communities tell their stories, build relationships, process what they are experiencing, and imagine something different.

That belief has shaped our work for nearly a decade.

From our youth art club to Queer Riot, from community gatherings to creative collaborations, GPLXC has helped make space for people whose stories and creativity deserve to be seen, heard, and celebrated.

Culture is how those things become visible.

And when we invest in community creativity, we are investing in the ability of people to define their own stories.

The next decade needs room to create.

As GPLXC approaches ten years, we want to keep making that room.

We want to support artists, young people, organizers, neighbors, and community members who are imagining what Gage Park and Chicago's Southwest Side can be.

But creative community spaces require resources.

They require people who organize them, places to gather, materials to make things, partnerships to sustain them, and supporters who understand that culture is part of the infrastructure of a healthy community.

That is where you come in.

Your support doesn't simply fund an event or a program.

It helps create the conditions for the next collaboration, the next artwork, the next gathering, the next story.

We aren't just preserving what our community has created.

We're making room for what hasn't been created yet.
